Lympne Housing Needs Survey
The Parish Council is working with The Rural and Community Housing Enabling service (RACE) to undertake a housing needs survey in Lympne.
The purpose of the survey is to find out whether people with local connections to Lympne need affordable housing (rented at below market rents – typically around 50% – 80% of the cost of open market rental properties – or low-cost home ownership).
The survey also seeks to understand whether there are older homeowners who need to downsize/move to more suitable housing for their needs.
Although the proposed Otterpool Development promises to deliver a significant amount of affordable housing, the recipients of that housing won’t necessarily have a connection to Lympne. Any housing provision provided as a result of this initiative would be exclusively for people with strong connections to the Parish and would be a small development of around 10 homes.
Look out for a postcard that will be delivered directly to all households in the parish in early March giving online links for completion of the survey. If you prefer a paper survey, you can collect one from the Village Shop or call the Parish Clerk on 01303 883228. If you are in housing need, please complete this important survey so that we can find out what housing is needed in our community and work towards meeting those needs.
